The New Zealand Solar Hot Water Industry is about to explode with the anticipated requirement to install up to 500,000 solar panels on public building roofs over the next 5 years.

There has never been a better time to enter this industry because we have a severe labour shortage. The ONLY way we will be able to meet with the demand is to train and certify people on a large scale.

The polytech industry is currently gearing up to conduct courses for plumbers and other interested parties. We consider that this is not enough to meet the demand and although the cost is reasonable at just over $600.00 it does involve the cost of travel and accomodation for those that live in remote communities. This is most of New Zealand.

Although our course is not yet NZQA certified, we are working toward that goal. Meanwhile the cost of our course is free. At the end of it you will understand:

• The design and installation of residential and simple commercial applications;
• The safety criteria associated with the installation of SHW units;
• The structural integrity and weather tightness issues associated with mounting a SHW system on a roof;
• The relevant building codes and building concepts associated with SHW installations;
• The process that must be followed to obtain Building Consents and ensure compliance.
