    Prerequisites for becoming a Master SHW Installer

    1. You must be a Registered Plumber; and
    2. Electrical Work Certificate for plumbers and gasfitters; and
    3. You must successfully complete a SHW training course.
    4. You (or your employer) must hold public liability insurance for your business.
    Prerequisites for becoming an installer.
    • You must successfully complete a SHW training course.
    • You (or your employer) must hold public liability insurance for your business.
    • All work undertaken must be signed off by a Registered Plumber who is responsible for all compliance requirements.
    General Industry Requirements
    • You must hold a Safe Electrical Working Practices certificate if you work on electrical appliances such as water heaters; and
    • You must have been trained in First Aid and CPR and hold a current certificate;
    Content

    On successful completion of the programme, you will be able to demonstrate that you understand:

    • The design and installation of residential and simple commercial applications;
    • The safety criteria associated with the installation of SHW units;
    • The structural integrity and weather tightness issues associated with a roof mounting of a SHW operation;
    • The relevant building codes and building concepts associated with SHW installations;
    • The process that must be followed to obtain Building Consents and ensure compliance.
    Notes:
    1. Full cross credit applies if you have completed an NZQA certified course at any of the following institutions Wintec, Weltec, SIT, Unitec or any other recognised training provider.
    2. Certification applies to our products only
    3. The course is NOT yet NZQA certified.
    4. The cost of the course is free until we have NZQA certification.
    5. There is no block course associated with this program.
    6. Quadrix Energy will provide a step-by-step installation guide complete with photographs of actual installations to assist installers.
    7. If required, Quadrix Energy will assist you in your first installation.
